Dr. Weidong Yang received his first dental degree from the Dental School of Xi’an Jiaotong University, then attended an Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Resident program before starting his practice as an oral surgeon and faculty member at the Dental School in Xi’an, China. He was already a specialist in oral surgery before he received his second dental degree (Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry) from University of Pennsylvania, where he worked as faculty in for about three years following graduation. While he was still in school, Dr. Yang received professional awards and academic achievements in technology development, patenting, and had clinical research papers published in scientific journals.
After practicing for a number of years in Philadelphia, Dr. Yang and his wife Yan Wang, who works at the University of Delaware, decided to move back to Delaware to be closer to their Newark home. Dr. Yang joined private practice in 2012. He has received extensive training in many specialty disciplines including cosmetic restoration, implant, periodontal and oral surgery, and endodontic treatment. He is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, International Dental Implant Association, and Delaware Dental Society.
When he’s not in the office helping patients, Dr. Weidong Yang enjoys sports, fishing, and reading.
Dr. Emma Yang grew up in Newark, Delaware and is a graduate of Newark High School. She received her Bachelor of Science (BS) and Masters (MS) in Biology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She was extensively involved in scientific research projects and had several publications in scientific journals. She received her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree (DMD) from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, where she graduated with awards and was named to the Dean’s List for her academic achievement.
Dr. Emma Yang then continued her dental training by completing her General Practice Residency at Penn Medicine – Lancaster General Hospital. She was closely mentored by top dentists and received more extensive training in different disciplines of dentistry, including restorative, cosmetic, endodontic, pediatrics, periodontics, and oral surgery. Dr. Emma Yang is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Education Association, and the American Dental Association.
In her free time, Dr. Emma Yang enjoys music, sports, traveling, spending time with friends, family and her dog, Turbo.
Kayla is from Bear, Delaware. She is a graduate of the Dental Assistant program at Howard High School of Technology and currently attends Wilmington University to obtain her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree and hopes to continue to further her dental education to eventually become a cosmetic dentist.
Outside of the office, Kayla enjoys spending time with her nephews and planning vacations with her friends and family.
Nicole is from Chester County, Pennsylvania. She is a 2018 Dental Assisting graduate of Contemporary Health Institutes. Nicole’s favorite part of dentistry is seeing the positive life-changing results that dentistry can provide for patients. Her gentle touch and friendly chairside manner help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during their visits.
Outside of the office, Nicole enjoys being out in nature, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with friends, family, and her German Shepherd, Dundee.
Michelle was born in London, England, where she lived with her parents and three older sisters until their return to the United States. She grew up and attended school in Wilmington, Delaware. Michelle has always shown a passion for all things dental and received her Dental Assistant credentials from Dawn Career Institute in 2008.
Michelle is the proud mother of three beautiful children and a lovable English bulldog. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, and cooking.
Raquel was born and raised in Robstown, Texas until her high school years when she moved to Pennsylvania and graduated from Juniata High School. She spent five years in the Air Force following graduation, moving and relocating several times and deploying twice during her service prior to settling in Delaware. Raquel is currently attending college in pursuit of her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Her favorite part of her job at Delaware Dental Solutions is the patients, and she is always striving to educate them on the importance of oral health and how our team is here to help in any way we can by making each patient feel comfortable and important. Being able to provide outstanding customer service as soon as patients walk in the door is one of Raquel’s main goals.
When Raquel is not working or attending college, most of her time is spent with her kids, Jared and Isabella, and the family dog, Marcus. Raquel stays busy attending the kids’ sporting events, traveling, and just relaxing at home watching movies. One of her favorite things to do during her downtime is bass fishing.
